Biography
Donna’s Great Grandfather Augustus William “Gus” Ericson born on April 26, 1848 in Orebro, Sweden came to the United States and had the reputation a s the “foremost landscape photographer of northern California.” He lived in Arcata, California. She knows where she got her “nitche”. Donna also is an avid horseman in many phases: "my mother died when I was 12... having ridden since about 4 my father bought me a horse....it filled that empty spot......I would ride my bicycle 8 miles then ride the hills of West Marin all day long." She still does that today on her place in Owyhee County, Idaho, and has major cattle ranches asking for her assistance. Donna has lived on ranches and worked not only with horses but cattle from the Pacific North West including the Great Basin and California, and was a State Brand Inspector for the State of Nevada at one time. She says most people don’t even realize what it is like to ride from sunrise to sundown. You can also catch Donna riding Jumpers....as pictured below. She loves capturing on her lense what she has spent a lifetime acquiring an eye for...."Horses are magical....no wonder why I ‘m in Idaho.....Hagerman, Idaho is where the oldest horse in the world was found." Donna shoots a lot different than most: she does it a from a top of a horse -- and to top it all off she broke that horse and foaled it out too! She loves doing a equine photography but especially loves doing herd work. Below are a few pictures of Donna known to many as "bonkers" throughout the years.
